Edisto Beach Cabins

All You Need To Know About Edisto Beach Cabins So That You Can Decide On The Best One For Your Vacation.

Those who would like to spend the night in a true cabin will need to head up to Edisto Beach State Park. There are seven well equipped cabins here in a stunning forest setting that overlooks a marsh area, just a mile or so away from the ocean. Edisto Beach cabins come in two sizes and are all reasonably priced and even discounted out of season. They can be booked online, although tend to go fast so booing ahead is a must.

Edisto Beach State Park itself abuts Edisto Beach on the southern part of Edisto Island in southern South Carolina. It is a mere hour south of Charleston by road (Savannah and Edisto highways) and the highway cuts right through the park before it hits Edisto Beach, farther south. The park is most appealing to those with a love for the countryside, the beach, and nature in general, with its collection of forests and marshlands.

Edisto Beach State Park was set up by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and encompasses 1,255 acres right above the Edisto Beach Township. For those that prefer to stay here there are a fair amount of activities available, such fishing and hiking, plus the beach area is as nice as that of Edisto Beach itself. The nature trail in particular is well established. It is four-mile long loop stretching off State Cabin Road and is fully accessible to handicapped visitors. There is much to see along this trail, part of which veers off past a 4,000-year-old shell midden (mound). You can also discern some of the state’s largest palmetto trees as well as rich, old oaks, while an environmental education center is also onsite. It delves into the natural history of the park, Edisto Island, and the ACE Basin.

Compared with other state parks in South Carolina, where there are well over 200 in all, Edisto Beach State Park has just seven of them housing a maximum of 32 people at any one time. In addition, they are located away from Edisto Beach proper and well within the forest. This will appeal greatly to those after a bit of piece away from the city, plus they are well equipped for a bit of creature comfort. There are two types of Edisto Beach cabins: one bedroom and three bedroom. There are five one-bedroom cabins, which can accommodate four people, and two three-bedroom ones that sleep six. All cabins are fully furnished and come with air-conditioning, heating, bathroom, and linen. They also come with kitchenettes that have microwaves and coffee makers, as well as a television and porch. Beds are all queen size.

Cabins can be reserved online up to three days before date of stay, after which you will need to book direct with Edisto Beach State Park. Discounts are available in the winter and other off-season times. Pets are not permitted. If you can’t book Edisto Beach cabins, there are also a couple of campgrounds here; one at the marsh and another near the ocean. They are well equipped with electrical hookups, running water, and picnic areas and you also have access to the nature trail, fishing, and boating.
