Edisto Island SC Vacation Rentails
Details On What Kind Of Vacation Rentails Are Available In Edisto Island, SC.
Edisto Island is one of the best destinations in South Carolina for vacation rentals. It is a little-commercialized, family-type beach in the southeast of the state and, as such, is low on hotels and resorts and high on Edisto Island SC vacation rentails. Prices here are reasonable and go from a few hundred dollars a week for a small place out of season, up to $3,000 or more for large beach homes in-season. Vacation rentals go from beachfront homes and cottages, to villas and homes over looking creeks and salt marches. The southern end of Palmetto Boulevard is the most sought after location for vacation rentals, with direct beach access for those staying toward the south and west of the street.
Edisto Island itself is a small barrier island separated from the mainland by a river and is the gateway to the South Carolina Ace Basin Reserve. This region is ideal for those into messing about on the water, with excellent boating, kayaking, and fishing, as well as swimming off of Edisto beach. The island is located an hour or so to the south of Charleston by car and boasts a mild, year-round climate. It never gets too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. It is a quiet holiday destination, with little in the way of bars and shops and is thus good for families.
Palmetto Boulevard is the main street where the bulk of the accommodation is situated, while plenty of other options exist on the opposite side of the beach along Big Bay Creek. A golf course and the only resort in town lie in between the beach and the creek, while also not far from here is the marina along with other mooring points and a fair few shops, cafés, and seafood restaurants. Those who hanker life in a cabin or tent should head for Edisto Island State Park. There are no vacation rentals in here, yet there are seven well fitted out cabins and a couple of camping grounds – one inland and one at the beach. The park entrance is just north of the township of Edisto Beach and there is some nice walking in here along a four-mile-long nature trail.
